QUICK ESSENTIAL READ for your first financial planning session! Common Financial Sense is a great book to read a few days before having your first meeting with your financial advisor. I read it in two sittings. Great resource for novice and experienced investors As someone who started out as a financial advisor, and who has spent much of the last decade analyzing the behaviors of investors, I strongly recommend this terrific work by Harris and Greg. Essential Reading This is a fantastic book for everyone who needs a basic understanding of planning for the future. It’s short, and despite the number of graphics and statistics, it’s extremely easy to understand as it explains what a 401K is and how much people should be setting aside for retirement – and more importantly, WHY they should be setting aside so much money for retirement. I wish someone had given me this book in high school or college before my finances became my own responsibility.
